Surah Ash Shura Ayat 50 Translation Tafseer

Para 25 - اِلَیْهِ یُرَدُّ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

42.50

اَوْ یُزَوِّجُهُمْ ذُكْرَانًا وَّ اِنَاثًاۚ-وَ یَجْعَلُ مَنْ یَّشَآءُ عَقِیْمًاؕ-اِنَّهٗ عَلِیْمٌ قَدِیْرٌ(50)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

Or He grants both sons and daughters; and He makes barren whomsoever He wills; [1] He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.

Commentary

Allah Almighty has mentioned various forms of granting people the blessing of offspring. He grants only sons to whomever He wills; He grants only daughters to whomever He wills; He grants both sons and daughters to whomever He wills; and He makes barren whomever He wills. Only Allah Almighty has the authority and power over these matters. A woman has no control over the gender of her child. Ignoring this reality and being cruel to a woman because she is childless or gives birth to a girl is the heinous practice of oppressors and disbelievers. Muslims must refrain from such cruelty.
